MANS Public Relations
Public Relations Chair: Tammie Williams
Hello everyone, I’m very excited to be able to inform you of why I became interesting in nursing and took on this position. I have always enjoyed helping people and wanted to express how I could care for them. Just to give you a little history about me, I am the only girl of six brothers, very head strong, positive, optimistic, willing and ready to take on new adventures. Nursing is not all happy smiles and laughter, there are days and nights I’ve been interesting in nursing since elementary school. My granddad got sick and being the oldest, I took on the some responsibility to care of him. I was scary at first, but I enjoyed making him feel better. I began to volunteer at senior citizens developments to assist with minimal errands and chores. It gave me an inner gratification and I knew, this is my calling. Now, as the years have gone by I have loved nursing even more! Its brought me so many pleasures and I have brought something to it. Its one of those things that you have to fit with, and nursing and I FIT! I try to explain to people I do this for the love of it and those little smiles of gratitude. “You’ll know if you belong,” is a try saying I like to live by. Because you’ll know if nursing is for you. I want to spread the joy and heartache nursing has given me and let you all know, I couldn’t see myself doing anything else!!
Nursing has given me that opportunity. It is very rewarding and can also be demanding. I want to give my patients the care I would want to have if I were them.
Taking the position, PUBLIC RELATIONS CHAIR, has allowed me to communicate to nursing students, nursing schools, the public and employers that we are here and that we have a voice in healthcare. I can get information to many who may not know what is out there and for those who do, update them on what’s new! This has been a very good opportunity for me to share my passion as a nursing student to all who want to make a difference. Thank you. |
